Being the first of my family to go to university, I was a little unsure of what to expect. Thankfully, the University of Leicester made me feel completely welcome. I was always supported and encouraged to be my best. And now that I’m the President of the Students’ Union, it’s my turn to pass on that support to others.

At first, I wasn’t sure I wanted to go to university at all. I was worried about how my parents would get on without me, and I also thought I might be missing out on opportunities elsewhere. But I soon realised that all the opportunities I’d been looking for were right here.

I wouldn’t have had the confidence to do half the things I’ve done, if it weren’t for the people around me at Leicester. I’ve run my own radio show, led all kinds of societies, and now I’ve become President of the Students’ Union.

I know there’s a lot of people out there who are in the same boat I was, which is why I’m eager to help them get the best out of Higher Education, and find the career path that’s right for them.
