My dream career’s getting a huge boost already, thanks to my placement with Rolls-Royce where I’m writing software for aircraft engines. I get so much practical and supportive teaching here at the University of Leicester – my lecturers are all really dedicated to helping me succeed, so I know my future’s in safe hands.

I came to the UK and the University of Leicester because I always dreamt of studying in a top-ranking university. I hoped to combine my interests of software engineering and electronics engineering, and my degree at Leicester is letting me do just that.

I really enjoy studying here – everyone is so friendly and always willing to support in every possible way they can. And being surrounded by like-minded, passionate people has made me want to get more involved in things around here. That’s why I became a student ambassador for the Engineering department and the International Study Centre.

As part of my course, I’ve already completed two summer internships at Vodafone and I’m currently on a year-long placement at Rolls-Royce. All these experiences are invaluable and I’m able to take what I’ve been learning out into the real world, where I’m learning even more. I’ve enjoyed every part of my university life so far, and am very much looking forward to my final year.
